How we handle every gift

Registration and tax status

Najam Relief’s work is carried out by Najam Institute Foundation Inc, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization based in Decatur, Georgia (Tax ID 83-4231488). The IRS issued the organization’s tax exemption in April 2019. All donations are tax-deductible as allowed by US laws.

How we handle Zakat

We track Zakat donations separately from all other funds and only use them for Zakat-eligible projects. Our emergency appeals offer a dedicated Zakat checkout, and every donation to our Emergency Appeal goes directly to the field, with a 100% Zakat policy.

Working with partners

For international emergency relief, Najam Relief works with Muslims Around the World (MATW), in partnership with organizations such as JHCO and the Egyptian Red Crescent. MATW publishes impact reports showing how donations are spent; you can read them on MATW’s website.

Clarity and openness

We maintain clarity in our communication and openness in our actions, so that you can give with confidence. If you have a question about how a gift was used, please contact us.
